Functional Medicine
Lab Testing

Functional Medicine Lab Testing is different because it helps evaluate imbalances in the body on a spectrum of health, with a focus on optimizing levels to help you feel your best.
Dutch Test, NutrEval® and GI Effects® and many others.

Based on cutting-edge science, functional medicine offers a whole new way to understand and look at chronic illnesses from diabetes to depression, heart disease to hypertension, autoimmune disease to autism, allergies to anxiety, and more.

Different root causes present as symptoms that seem typical for a particular ailment when, in fact, it may not be what is going on in the body. One source of disease or dysfunction can interact with another, causing many to jump from doctor to doctor without answers.

A lack of proper diagnosis can occur with modern medicine when only a tiny portion of the tests are ordered or reviewed without looking at the bigger picture. This is how functional medicine differs, and our wellness doctors use specific lab tests to gain a better understanding of your body’s ecosystem.

Thyroid Panel

Symptoms might include weight gain, weight loss, dry skin, hair loss, depression, or fatigue. A lack of proper diagnosis can occur in conventional medicine because only TSH and T4 tests are usually run when suspected of thyroid dysfunction. A complete thyroid panel will include testing for TSH, T4, free T4, T3 uptake, total T3, free T3, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies. This blood panel provides a comprehensive view of your thyroid function to understand the full scope of your thyroid health and check for possible autoimmune thyroid problems.

Adrenal Stress Index

Suppose you are experiencing brain fog, fatigue, anxiety, depression, irritability, trouble sleeping, blood sugar imbalances, or unexplained weight gain. In that case, you could have a cortisol imbalance due to adrenal gland dysfunction. Your adrenal glands release hormones into your body, including cortisol, your primary stress hormone. Balanced hormones are an integral part of your overall health, and an imbalance in cortisol levels can lead to other hormone imbalances. These hormones are released through a complex communication network between your brain and adrenal glands known as the HPA axis. If miscommunication happens within the HPA axis, adrenal fatigue causes cortisol to be perpetually high, perpetually low, to be increased when it should be low, or vice versa. An adrenal stress index test is a saliva test that tracks your cortisol levels over 24 hours to measure the health of your adrenal system in response to stress.

Complete Hormone Panel

Symptoms may include acne, hair loss, weight gain, low sex drive, infertility, anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, or changes in the menstrual cycle. Doctors use saliva and blood tests to look at the ratios of these hormones to deduce whether they are at healthy levels or if treatment is needed. When testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen levels become unbalanced, symptoms can be severe and often misdiagnosed. Read more about The Dutch Test by Precision Analytical in the link below.

Allergy & Food Sensitivity Testing

Allergies and hypersensitivities are the body’s overreacting to a specific substance. This overreaction can cause various symptoms, from a mild runny nose to body pain and dysfunction to the more severe narrowing of your airway. However, because some allergens can cause symptoms that are not immediately noticeable, you may not know that you have specific allergies or hypersensitivities. We provide allergy/hypersensitivity testing services to detect possible allergens so you can avoid them and live a better life. Your doctor will discuss your results with you, and you can develop a treatment plan. This can include the following: nutritional supplements, enzymes, herbal and homeopathic detoxifying remedies, food elimination plans, and emotional release techniques if there are emotional correlations with the allergen or sensitivity.
