Private Health Insurance

One of the most prevalent features of private health insurance plans is that an individual’s employer negotiates with a health insurance provider regarding the “benefits” that one receives. Contracts that exist between health insurance providers and health systems, such as hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, govern the prices that they will pay for the services provided. As a result, individuals lose choices in healthcare. Patients are forced to visit certain hospitals or a specific group of doctors, and the care provided is often expensive. Furthermore, patients may find themselves in an inconvenient arrangement wherein they may need to change doctors because their doctor is no longer included in the insurance plan or a doctor recommends a prescription or test that the insurance company refuses to cover. A significant impact on medical care is that doctors are often compelled to see as many patients as possible, resulting in brief appointments that inadequately fulfill the patient’s healthcare requirements. As a more tailored solution, numerous specialty, concierge, and functional medicine doctors have cut ties with insurance providers to offer personalized treatments, spend more time with patients and charge fees that are lower than that of private insurance.

Using Your Personal Health Insurance

We do not bill health insurance providers. You are welcome to submit a detailed bill to your insurance company directly; however, please know that this is not a guarantee of payment, and you will not be given any diagnosis or visit codes associated with our consultation.

With that said, some clients have received reimbursement if they have a supplemental plan covering out-of-pocket health-related expenses.

To use insurance for your blood test, you must request the testing from your local physician. Many of our clients can get insurance to cover their blood testing.
